Sustainability
At Lamm, sustainability is reflected in the practical choices we make every day — particularly in how we pack and send our products into the world.
Thoughtful, low-impact packaging
We choose packaging materials that balance protection, responsibility, and end-of-life considerations:
- Recycled poly mailers made from 100% recycled ocean-bound plastic, used where a lightweight, durable option is most appropriate.
- Compostable bubble mailers when extra cushioning is needed, offering protection without conventional plastic bubble wrap.
- Bamboo boxes for larger or more delicate orders, made from a rapidly renewable material and designed to be reused or composted where facilities exist.
- Recyclable cardboard stock boxes, chosen for their durability, reusability, and widespread acceptance in recycling streams.
- Kraft paper tape with zero plastic, allowing cardboard packaging to be recycled cleanly without contamination.
Inside each parcel, we may use tissue paper and/or paper honeycomb wrap. We avoid unnecessary fillers or decorative extras, and we pack each order according to its size, weight, and fragility — nothing more, nothing less. On occasion, we may use washi tape, chosen sparingly and with intention.
Where possible, we encourage customers to reuse, recycle, or compost packaging materials through local systems in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Care through restraint
We believe sustainability is as much about what we don’t include as what we do. By keeping packaging minimal and purposeful, we aim to reduce waste while ensuring each piece arrives safely and with care.
An ongoing practice
We don’t claim perfection, only attention. As materials, systems, and knowledge evolve, we continue to review and refine our choices. Sustainability at Lamm is an ongoing commitment to making thoughtfully, packing responsibly, and caring for the people and places that make our work possible.
